Academics

“A guaranteed and viable curriculum is the number one

school-level factor impacting student achievement”.

Robert Marzano, What Works in Schools

St. Mary’s Primary School attempts to meet the intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional and physical needs of each student by developing each person’s unique academic potential.

In providing our students with a challenging academic education, we offer instruction in the core subjects of: Religion; Language Arts; Mathematics; Social Studies; Science. In addition, to the core subject, students have classes in Art; Music; Computer; Library Science; Spanish; and Physical Education

Our curriculum at St. Mary’s Primary School follows the Curriculum Guidelines of the Diocese of Fall River Office of Catholic Schools. These Curriculum Guidelines are developed collaboratively by administrators and teachers from throughout the diocese serving on committees formed in each core subject. The Curriculum Guidelines are aligned with both National Standards as well as the Massachusetts State Frameworks.

Curriculum Overviews are currently available in Religion, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Writing.
