Registration Information/Admission Policy

Saint Mary’s Primary School admits qualified students to its program. The school does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin, or disability, if with reasonable accommodations; the student can successfully meet the program.

Eligible applicants are accepted in the following order:

  • Applicants who are siblings of students presently enrolled in Saint Mary’s Primary School;
  • Applicants who are registered members of Saint Mary’s Parish in Taunton;
  • All other eligible applicants.

This school follows the age requirements of the Taunton Public School system and to enroll at Saint Mary’s Primary School, a child must be:

  • Three year old as of August 31st of the current year to enter our nursery program
  • Four years old as of August 31st of the current year to enter our pre-kindergarten program
  • Five years old as of August 31st of the current year to enter our kindergarten program

The following items complete the admissions/registration process:

  • Completed registration form

  • Copy of birth certificate on file

  • Copy of Baptismal certificate on file

  • Copy of social security card on file

  • Emergency/Dismissal information form

  • $150 non-refundable registration fee (if space is available)

  • Release of information form (Kindergarten - Grade 5)

  • FACTS Automatic Tuition Payment Agreement

  • Copy of most recent report card, most recent standardized tests, Core evaluation IEP (if applicable)

  • Completed admissions testing/screening (to be scheduled in the month of April/May)

  • Optional: request for parish financial aid (signed by your pastor)

  • Optional: request for St. Mary's Education Fund Financial Assistance Application

  • Optional: completed busing information (city of Taunton residents only)

Applicants can consider the Admission/Registration Process complete, unless notified otherwise.

The administration has the right to deny admission based on social and/or academic performance. In addition, Saint Mary’s Primary School does not have the capability to provide any special services to students. Therefore, the administration reserves the right to request withdrawal if a student is unable to meet the education/social requirements of the school. All new students admitted to Saint Mary’s Primary School are placed on a three-month educational probationary period. The administration makes the final decision in regards to all admissions to Saint Mary’s Primary School.
